About Us |
Q: What is The Personal Injury Center of America®?
A: The PI Center is a nationwide network of legal representation for serious accidents and injuries. The PI Center itself is not a law firm. Our network is comprised of hundreds of law firms throughout the United States, so when you submit your case, you are not just accessing one attorney or one law firm. No one personal injury attorney or law firm can be best suited to handle every type of personal injury case. This is why The Personal Injury Center® was created. Based on your case and your location, we will refer you to one of our affiliate law firms that will act as the lead firm handling your case. For more information, please click on the "Why Choose Us" or "About Us" tabs at the top.
Q: What is the difference between The PI Center and an attorney referral website, legal directory, or any other legal resource site?
A: Be careful of these websites! These sites are generally not run by attorneys which means that the only way they are making money is by charging attorneys a fee to advertise or to receive leads. They could care a less about the quality of the representation their visitors will receive as long as they are getting their advertising fees. If you look through your phone book or watch a lot of tv, you will be bombarded by attorney advertisements. Any attorney can advertise, but that doesn't mean that they are right for your case or even have experience handling cases like yours. Generally, if they are advertising it also means they need the work, which is never a good sign. The PI Center came into existence in 1993 and recently made its move online. And frankly, the better you do, the better we do. Therefore, our success is directly tied to your success, and that's how it should be.
Q: How exactly does The PI Center make money?
A: All of our affiliated law firms work on a contigency fee basis. This means that they don't make money until the successful conclusion of your case. Therefore, if they don't win, they are the ones that lost money, not the client. Contingency fees are standard practice in personal injury law, and they are in the best interest of the client, since the client is never out of pocket money. There is absolutely no fee to have us help you find the right attorney.

Case Evaluations |
Q: Once I submit my case, does that mean I have "hired" an attorney?
A: No. By submitting your case you are not establishing an attorney-client relationship. Based on the information you submit, one of our affiliate law firms will follow-up with you and request any additional information that is needed. Once all the information needed is received, a final evaluation is done by our affiliate law firm, and they will choose whether or not to accept your case. After that, you will sign an agreement with the law firm at which point you have then "hired" an attorney. Keep in mind that under no circumstances are you required to hire the attorney or law firm we recommend.
Q: After I submit my case, when will I receive a response?
A: Once your case has been submitted, you will receive a confirmation email from The Personal Injury Center® stating that we have received your information and are evaluating your case. You should then receive a phone call from one of our affiliate law firms within one business day.

Cases We Handle |
Q: I think I have a personal injury case but it isn't listed. Can you still handle it?
A: In most instances, yes. It would be impossible for us to list every possible case that our network can handle, especially when it comes to products liability and unsafe drug claims, so if what you are looking for isn't listed, please call us at 877-888-5936. We have done our best to provide information on a broad range of topics, but if the topic you are looking for isn't listed, rest assured that our experienced network of attorneys will still be able to handle it.
Q: Are there any personal injury cases that you DON'T handle?
A: Yes. We don't handle cases where an accident resulted in only a minor injury such as a bruise, cut, scrape, etc. We try to focus on serious accident and injury cases only, and areas of personal injury law that require highly experienced and skilled attorneys. It is important to note that if our attorneys choose not to accept your case it doesn't mean that you don't necessarily have a valid claim.
Q: Do you handle criminal defense cases or bankruptcy cases?
A: No, we focus on handling only plantiff personal injury cases. So this means we are not accepting nor do we handle any defense work (criminal defense, DUI defense, etc...) After 30 years of handling personal injury cases and seeing the corners that companies are willing to cut in order to save a dime, we have devoted our lives and focus to personal injury and helping those that have been injured.

General |
Q: What is a statute of limitation?
A: The statute of limitation is the time limit that you have to file a case. The statute usually begins to run from the date of injury and varies by state. When the time limit expires, your case is barred no matter how strong a claim you may have had. To protect yourself, we recommend that you seek legal counsel as soon as possible.
Q: How much will it cost to hire the referred attorney?
A: Attorneys handling injury claims work on a contingency basis. If they do not recover any money, you owe them nothing. When a settlement or favorable judgment is achieved, the attorney's fee is calculated as a percentage of what they recover for you. You should never pay for a consultation or for an attorney to handle your case.
Q: How much do I have to pay for the referral service?
A: The service is free. As is the case with all contingency fee cases, the client pays the law firm that handles the case. There are no hidden costs to you.
Q: Is the information I provide confidential?
A: We will only disclose the information that you provide to make sure that an attorney does not have a conflict of interest in representing you. We will not disclose any information to the potential defendant nor any other third-party, with the exception, of course, of other attorneys and law firms in our network.
Q: How will the attorney handling my case know what it is worth?
A: A lawyer will interview you, review accident reports and your medical records, speak with witnesses, and analyze how the injury has affected your life.
Q: How do you choose the attorneys and law firms you recommend?
A: The attorneys in our network are chosen after reviewing their background, experience, accomplishments, and achieved settlements. The attorneys must have a good record in the past cases that they have handled and are recognized by their peers and law publications as being the one of the top law firms in their field. This network developed as a result of over 30 years of experience in practicing personal injury law.
